I’m Millicent, a counsellor/psychotherapist with over ten years of experience in Private Practice, Charity Organization Services, and NHS Mental Health Services. I work with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological problems to help them bring about effective change and enhance their health and well-being.
My multicultural competency and ability to see different perspectives enable me to meet people where they are in the here and now, helping them overcome their problems and make appropriate changes to their lives.
I aim to provide a confidential space where you can feel comfortable and at ease to talk openly about your feelings and thoughts, so we can work at a suitable pace for you.
I combine various treatment techniques to suit your individual needs; these techniques will help you grow and reach your full potential.
Examples of the therapies used in my practice include Integrative Therapy, which involves selecting techniques from different therapeutic orientations to best suit your particular problems; Motivational Interviewing, where I will ask open questions that draw out and explore your experiences, perspectives, and ideas; Person-Centred Therapy, which provides a non-judgemental environment conducive to honest self-exploration. During the session, these processes will help you see yourself more clearly and connect with your true self.
Humanistic Therapy encourages you to engage in soul-searching and determine what is missing from your lifestyle, while Cognitive Behaviour Techniques help you change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking and behaving.
